involved in the accidental, cross-country flight of a nuclear-armed
B-52 bomber following an investigation that found widespread disregard
for the rules on handling such munitions.

| Officers May Lose Commands After Nuclear Missiles Were Flown On Bomber

The Air Force has decided to relieve at least five of its officers of
command and is considering filing criminal charges in connection with
the Aug. 29 "Bent Spear" incident in which nuclear-armed cruise
missiles were mistakenly flown from North Dakota to Louisiana, two
senior Air Force officials said yesterday.

The Senate version of the Energy Bill now pending in Congress could
authorize virtually unlimited loan guarantees for backers of new
nuclear reactors -- effectively, a blank check, at taxpayer expense.
Besides the fact that reactors are vulnerable to terrorist attacks,
human error in operation, and earthquakes, there is also no solution to
the problem of safely storing or transporting nuclear waste. Why would
we want more nuclear power facilities built if the safety of those
already in operation is in question?

They're on duty and fast asleep, security guards that are supposed to
be protecting a major terrorist target in the United States. CBS 2 HD's three-month investigation into the security gap at our
nation's nuclear facilities yielded some shocking information and
video, and now officials have told CBS 2 first that the contract with
the major security firm that hired the guards will be terminated.

| U.S. Loses Track Of Six Nuclear Warheads (Is One Still Missing?)

A B-52 bomber mistakenly loaded with six nuclear warheads flew from
Minot Air Force Base, N.D., to Barksdale Air Force Base, La., on Aug.
30, resulting in an Air Force-wide investigation, according to three
officers who asked not to be identified because they were not
authorized to discuss the incident.
