Twelve 'Any Time, Any Place' Survival Tips
posted on Friday, October 10, 2008

If you haven't done so already, I encourage you to begin living like our hardy, self-reliant ancestors did: put enough food, water, first aid, and emergency supplies away to deal with potential disturbances; start a private garden and/or join a community garden; get to know your neighbors; build community with your family and friends; cultivate a relationship with the Divine. Book: 'A Spring Without Bees'
posted on Tuesday, August 19, 2008

In a riveting detective story that melds science and politics, Michael Schacker investigates the case of the missing bees, examining the many theories on the cause, including cell phones, mites, new pathogens, and bee management. He then examines the evidence against IMD. The book does much more than illuminate the scientific research, however. Using CCD as a metaphor for our own human hive, Schacker asks:  Are the bees trying to tell us something? Could this be the warning sign of a much larger crisis looming directly ahead? Might humankind suffer someday from “Civilization Collapse Disorder”?  And how must we change our human hive in order to ensure its survival?

    Vanishing Of The Bees
posted on Tuesday, May 13, 2008

We receive a lot of submissions of that would like their work to be featured in Organic Bytes, but this is honestly one of the best trailers we've seen in a while. As you've probably read about previously in Organic Bytes, vast numbers of bees are literally disappearing all around the world. This movie analyzes why this mysterious phenomenon is taking place and how dramatically it could impact the world's food supply in the short term. As a note, the producers are also seeking donations to bring the movie to a wider audience.
