Under Our Skin, the acclaimed documentary about Lyme disease is creating a powerful movement that challenges the status quo of medical dogma. The documentary about Lyme disease has sparked a firestorm of awareness and action for the fastest growing infectious disease in the U.S., and its trajectory is being followed and disseminated on Facebook. For nearly two decades there has been a medical and political debate about Lyme disease that has gone largely unnoticed by most Americans, until now. Thanks to the powerful documentary Under Our Skin and social networks like Facebook, the fact that Lyme disease can be chronic, even deadly is no longer a secret.

“I’m excited about the Under Our Skin Facebook Fan Club,” says Andy Abrahams Wilson, the film’s producer and director. “It’s not only a place for our fans to watch clips of the movie and learn about our upcoming theatrical release, but it’s also become a place for people to learn about the latest developments concerning Lyme disease.”

Under Our Skin’s Facebook page was published a few months ago and to date has several hundred fans. Fans share their personal struggles and even give advice about the best doctors and treatment. They can also watch, read and listen to all the news coverage on Under Our Skin. The film has been featured on Good Morning America, CNN, The Dr. Oz (Oprah & Friends) Radio Show, The Michael O’Meara Show and The Washington Post, to name a few.
