EDITOR'S COMMENT:

One portion of the "Detoxing Your Home" article <http://groups.yahoo.com/group/nhnenews/message/14029> that I sent out yesterday contained this dubious recommendation:

"Don’t microwave food in plastic. Instead, use ceramic or glass, and cover with a paper towel or wax paper."

A couple of you wrote in challenging the wisdom of using microwaves. I, of course, completely agree. I don't own or use a microwave myself, nor have I ever. All my kids also grew up as microwave-free babies. Here are a few links for those of you who want to find out more:
