TOM JEPPERSON INTERVIEWS ANN ELLER
Original LinkGreetings Stargazers, Astronomy and UFO Buffs.
I’m your host Tom Jepperson. Welcome to the Gateway to Sedona Star Show, where I talk about what’s going on in our night skies, information and trivia about the stars, planets, comets, asteroids, meteors, other galaxies and also information and trivia about UFOlogy.
On my last show I mentioned that in my upcoming shows I would be doing interviews and today I have my very first interview with a phenomenal lady -- I’m very excited. Her name is Ann Eller. Ann has been working with a writer to recount her life story and will soon be coming out with her book.
Through her story she hopes to inspire others and I quote: “To be on fire in your spirit for those things that stir you soul in the quest for greater insight into the universe and the potential to expand humanity and the understanding of existence.”
In Ann’s book, she has chapter which will be of special interest to all of you UFO fans, myself included. You see, Ann had a very close association with one of the world’s most famous names in UFO research. I’m referring to the late researcher and renowned astrophysicist Dr. J. Allen Hynek. Ann was his personal assistant and secretary.
For over twenty years Dr. Hynek was the United States Air Force’s appointed scientific advisor to three major UFO studies: Project Sign from 1947 to 1949, Project Grudge from 1949 to 1952, followed by Project Blue Book from 1952 until 1965.
Dr. Hynek is credited with coining some of the most iconic terms and classifications identified with the UFO field of study such as the term Swamp Gas and Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, which of course became the title for Steven Spielberg’s 1977 blockbuster hit movie about alien contact.
Through this interview with Ann, I hope to get some insight into the inner workings of the man himself, Dr. Hynek, as well as her recollections of UFO information that she became privy to while serving as Hynek’s assistant and secretary.
Before I begin my phone interview with Ann, I would like to share with you listeners that I have personally been interested in UFOlogy since I was a young boy growing up in Los Angeles, California.
At that that time I had early dreams and aspirations of becoming an Astrophysicist like Dr. Hynek. At fourteen I used to attend a weekly meeting in Inglewood, California, with an organization called UFO Amalgamated. We would discuss the UFO phenomena and often there would be guest speakers, mostly military or commercial pilots recounting their UFO experiences.
